Everyday

Parkin' it
We took Rowan to the park last Monday -- hoping to get some exercise in.

He didn't like it when I would walk backwards and would immediately yell at me to turn around.

Trapped behind bars

He found these wheels intriguing...

...but he enjoyed this little maze more.

He refused to go down the slide that day, and would just stand at the top looking down and saying no, while I said things like "slide" and "weee" like a fool. Nothing worked.

Finally some decent equipment -- time to work those arms.

More difficult than it looks

He couldn't quite get it moving. Oh well...

Veronica's actual house

We went to visit Chris' cousin, and co-owner of Veronica's Dollhouse, last Friday.

Her home is beautiful  -- but I felt kind of awkward taking pictures of everything
so I just got a couple of shots of her on this lovely couch with her dog.

And she had the nerve to say she isn't photogenic.

I was able to capture this decor inspiration. I think I may delve into interior design next.

Fourth of July at the Zoo
Metro Zoo offered discounted ticket prices today.

Of course I had to dress Rowan in a Fourth of July themed outfit.

Contrary to his expression in these pictures, he had a great time.

Most of the animals were hiding from the sun and heat; but we were
able to see some elephants...

and a Cuban Crocodile.

There was a nice little grotto where I tried to take some pictures,
but they mostly came out to dark.

Except for these two.

We were in and out in 2 hours max -- the most efficient zoo trip
I've ever been on;

if not for the lack of animals.

Makeshift Sprinkler

Rowan has a slight obsession with the water hose.

He spent over an hour playing with the hose on Sunday.

Running around the patio avoiding the stream of water.

Filling and emptying receptacles.

Making funny faces for the camera.

And fake laughing

All fake.

He's such a clown.

Ice Cream

David bought me an ice cream cone last week --

I let Rowan have a taste.

He took it from my hand --

I decided that he was more deserving of the ice cream cone

I regret that decision.

Green Couch
David thought this outfit would match with our couch.

He also wanted you to know the story of this couch.

We got this couch while I was pregnant -- for free.

It had been abandoned when the owners were evicted and
the realtors were trying to get rid of it.

David swears someone died on this couch.

We got it professionally cleaned just in case.

Book Store

We took Rowan to Barnes & Nobel on Wednesday.

He ran around for what felt like hours -- so we all got a little exerciser in.

He chose the CD section of the book store to do the bulk of his marathon training.

He doesn't like forced poses for some reason; he's a more organic model.

Numerous toys to play with and endless books to read really makes this place
a toddler's dream.

While running around the CD section, this album played -- I recommend you give it a listen.

Cien Montaditos

We went to 100 Montaditos yesterday after work for happy hour. They offer
$1 montaditos (small  savory baguette sandwiches) and $1 beers every Thursday
- and since we had an electricity issue this week, we took advantage of the excuse to be out.

And on another note, go Heat!

Found this gem in a store right next to the restaurant.

Father's Day

- Rowan's been cheesing a lot more for the camera
lately without being prompted. I love it and make a
point to catch him before something else inevitably
captures his attention.

- We spent a lovely afternoon at Chris' family's house,
where his aunt brilliantly brought out a shoe box filled
with empty pill bottles for Rowan. "Old people Legos"
she called them. Genius.

-Delicious cupcakes that begged to be photographed.

Chris' Birthday

Saturday was Chris' birthday -- we spent it
drinking and eating in South Miami.

Pictured above is the delicious fredamame (free-edamame)
we received simply for checking in with foursquare at Ra
-- that and the sake bombs that started the night off right.

Bracet

Rowan loves my bracelets. This one in particular became
the first he referred to as "my bracet". Once I realized what
he was saying I handed it to him and he immediately put it
on, and then of course proceeded to taste it. Yum.

Legos

Rowanwas recently gifted quite a starter-kit of Legos --
which go very well with his new (offbrand) lego table that
he got for his birthday. As a result of all of this colorful building, my
living room floor is a landmine of plastic little booby traps...but look
how happy he is (that's jello I swear).
